Hi, and a small question

Names Phil from Newcastle North East England.
Just bought the Lumia 800 for a very reasonable price to replace an LG Optimus 2x, which I made a MASSIVE mistake in rooting, and the p[erformance and battery life has been dismal since.
The Lumia 800 has been very impressive. BUT the question i'd like answered is - How do I know that the OS has been upped to 7.8 ? Can't find any way of telling.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its 7.1 I later found out.
Be interesting to know when the 7.8 is due though.
ONLY thing that irritates me with the Lumia 800 is I can't put MY choice of tone on the texts tone.
Everything else is fine, and I don't wish to "jailbreak" or "root" after my mistake of doing so with the Optim us 2x

I guess you might have skipped a step while doing it with optimus 2x...!!!!

Anyways...I would suggest not to root or jailbreak unless you need to...!!!

No, I won't be doing that on the Lumia 800. I am in accord with you on that !
As for the Optimus 2x, I have it ticking over OK on MIUI with an iPhone look. Its OK, but preferred the original look.
Just would like the tone to be MY choice. (Which would be "tweet" which my daughter uses on her iPhone, which I thought was excellent, got it off a free site, and is on my 2x, sadly NOT my Lumia 800
