Nokia Lumia outshines iPhone and Android Powered Samsung Handsets.

According to the latest research from Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) service, the Nokia Lumia Series of smartphones has out shipped Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Android powered handsets in the first three quarters after their respective commercial launches. This is rather encouraging news for both Nokia and Microsoft, and the numbers are rather impressive

According to WSS:

"Nokia shipped 6.9 million Lumia smartphones with the Microsoft Windows Phone operating system cumulatively worldwide during the first three quarters after commercial launch, from Q4 2011 to Q2 2012. This compares with 3.7 million units of the rival Apple iPhone family in its first three quarters during 2007, and 1.3 million units for the Samsung Android family in its first three quarters during 2009."

Nokia cannot rest on it's laurels, because iOS 5 is just arouund the corner and Samsung's Galaxy SIII is making a killing on the market by selling more than 10 million handsets, so they definitely have their work cut out for them. The Finnish company is banking on Windows Phone 8 to pull them into contention for most desired mobile platform among consumers, and from the looks of it they just may do it.

They will.....I believe Windows Phone 8 is going to be a turning point plus, with the incentives they are offering the carriers it should really increase sales. Samsung and Android are just running wild so they have their work cut out for them
